New Questions on Diversity, Inclusion, Workplace Culture, and Remote Work
Media Staffing Network (MSN) is proud to partner with Inside Radio and Spots & Dots for the 2023 Sales Compensation Study. The goal of the study is to guide radio & television owners, operators, and managers to develop sales compensation packages that attract – and retain – the best candidates, including those from younger demographics, in today’s highly competitive hiring landscape. The survey launched today and runs through February 10. Participation is 100% confidential, and the survey takes less than five minutes to complete.
Patricia Kincaid, VP/General Manager of Media Staffing Network, explained, “Older compensation models were disappearing before the pandemic. Now, they are nearly gone. Radio & television owners and managers need to know the new reality to be successful over the next few years. A large sampling of participants will yield the best results. Partnering with Inside Radio and Spots & Dots will ensure that the survey reaches the industry’s radio and TV station sales professionals.”
New survey questions on diversity, inclusion, workplace culture and remote work have been added to keep up with the evolving post-pandemic workplace. This is the fourth year Media Staffing Network has conducted the radio survey and the third year for television.
“Broadcasters want the best people on their sales team, and the only way they can achieve that is with concrete knowledge and insights about how their compensation models measure up in today’s highly competitive marketplace,” said Gene McKay, Publisher of Inside Radio. “I’m proud to partner with Media Staffing Network on this extremely important initiative to help broadcasters build robust sales teams that can bring more revenue to our industry.”
“To position yourself as an employer of choice, you must offer competitive compensation. A 90 or 120-day guarantee and then 100 % commission does not ensure you’ll attract the best new hires. Many managers are working under the old model, and we are excited to share the latest information. Hiring today’s workers has changed.” Kincaid continued. “Investments are regularly made to boost listeners and viewers. The same must happen for hiring and retaining an outstanding sales team.”
